Caressa Layne Miles is a writer, curator, and cultural strategist.

Her poetry and fiction have been published in Art of Nothing Press, The Underground Press, Anti-Heroin Chic, Bacchanalia, Rawhead, and more. Her flash fiction piece, “Kate Cruel,” was awarded third place in the 2025 Plentitudes Prizes. 

Caressa is the Director for the Art Gallery at Xavier University, and is the Art Editor for Rawhead Journal.

She creates spaces where art, literature, and conversation bring people into deeper relationships with ideas and one another.

Caressa believes ideas deserve a public life. Her work creates the spaces where they can take root.

Caressa currently serves as Art Gallery Director for Xavier University in Cincinnati, Ohio, as well as Art Editor for Rawhead Journal.

She had curated or co-curated 25+ visual arts exhibitions in private galleries and public spaces; her mission is to bring the visual arts in dialogue with real experiences.

Her practice centers interdisciplinary cross-pollination and the inherent dialectic in artistic disciplines.
